Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team at KPC Promise Hospital of Amarillo. As a healthcare professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the assessment of health status of individuals and groups.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the assessment of health status of individuals and groups
  • Participate in the development and modification of plans of care
  • Implement care strategies within the LVN scope of practice
  • Rend safe care
  • Participate in evaluation of responses to care interventions
  • Delegate activities within the LVN scope of practice
  • Perform additional functions for which the LVN has been trained within the professional scope of practice
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Must hold a current state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
  • Must have completed course in administration of IV fluids before starting IVs or hanging solutions
  • Medical/surgical experience is preferred
  • Critical Care experience is recommended, required for direct observation bed units
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Stress Level: Moderate to high

Exposure Risk:

Category I - Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes.

Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.
