Key Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional patient care by collecting data, identifying deviations from normal, and assisting with reassessments as needed.
- Accurately document patient findings and communicate effectively with other healthcare members.
- Implement nursing care interventions identified in individualized treatment plans, using accepted standards of practice in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
- Conduct bedside laboratory tests, wound care, and provide comfort and assistance with ADLs.
- Promote patient coping, adaptation, and problem-solving related to illness and stressors.
- Provide supportive communication and culturally acceptable interventions, and document special needs.
- Administer medications safely, accurately communicate and document medication doses, and provide patient education.
- Follow up on patient care responsibilities, communicate incomplete assignments and patient needs with other disciplines, and transcribe orders accurately.
- Utilize nursing knowledge to meet the needs of the facility, patient population, and staff members.
- Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
- Valid Compact licenses are also acceptable.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- One year of inpatient hospital experience is strongly preferred.
This position requires the ability to work in a high-stress environment, assess potential patient escalation, and communicate effectively with internal and external customers. The LVN/LPN must be able to cope mentally and physically with the atmosphere, which may include disagreeable odors, sights, and unpredictable patient behavior.
