We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapist to join our Foster Care and Adoption team at Little City Foundation. As a Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapy and behavioral planning for children and some adults who have developmental, behavioral and/or emotional disabilities and their families.

Job Summary:

The Therapist will carry a caseload of clients and families, focusing on the use of individual, group or family treatment. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in a clinical field and at least one year of experience conducting individual, group and family therapy with children who have developmental, behavioral and/or emotional challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Carry a caseload of clients and families, focusing on the use of individual, group or family treatment.
  • Assess clients using Rule 132 Medicaid standards and complete the appropriate assessment authorizing services.
  • Develop the treatment plan, per Rule 132 standards and routinely evaluate the individual's success in treatment.
  • Attend or request staffing's, as necessary, as well as attend any other meetings related to the child for the purpose of coordinating interventions with the interdisciplinary team including testimony in court.
  • Provide consultation with other program staff, biological parents, foster parents, etc. regarding children's therapeutic issues as needed.
  • Document contact with client, client's family (clinical documentation requirements) according to Medicaid Part 132, agency, and DCFS standards.
  • Attend and participate in individual and group clinical supervision on a weekly basis.
  • Attend and participate in team and department meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain and increase clinical skills through training and research.
  • Provide training to families, staff and other service providers.
  • Provide on-call crisis intervention and support on a rotating basis.
Requirements:
  • A Master's Degree in a clinical field (i.e. psychology, social work, counseling) required.
  • At least one year of experience conducting individual, group and family therapy with children who have developmental, behavioral and/or emotional challenges.
  • Must be capable of transporting children and traveling to homes within a 45-mile radius, possessing a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance.
Work Environment:

The Therapist will work in a typical office environment with occasional travel to homes within a 45-mile radius. The physical demands of the job include sitting, walking, and standing for prolonged periods, frequently grasping, lifting, holding, or feeling objects, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

The employee is subject to assist and lift up to 30 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on an infrequent basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must have the ability to perform CPR and CPI. Generally, no occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases or other potentially infectious substances, but may require performing unplanned Category III tasks (Category II).
