About the Department


The Event Development and Production department is responsible for conceptualizing and executing NYRR events in alignment with our mission.

Among the 40+ adult events and 30+ Rising New York Road Runner youth events produced annually, notable examples include the TCS New York City Marathon, United Airlines NYC Half, and the Royal Bank of Canada Brooklyn Half.

This team oversees all aspects of event operations, including site management, timing and scoring, volunteer coordination, hospitality, safety and security, and collaboration with city and state agencies for permitting.

About the Position


This role will report to the Director of Entertainment & Expo Production and will focus on the planning and execution of events within NYRR's live entertainment portfolio.

The responsibilities include producing the TCS New York City Marathon Expo, United Airlines NYC Half Experience, and the Royal Bank of Canada Brooklyn Half Pre-Party.

This position requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners to optimize event spaces and deliver exceptional experiences for clients and attendees.

Additionally, for weekly races, this role will serve as an area lead, overseeing setup, operations, and breakdown on race days.


The Event Production Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring NYRR delivers outstanding events that meet the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:


- Manage logistics for the three marquee race expos, including floor plan design, vendor management, and event execution.

- Handle various administrative tasks such as budget tracking, vendor contracts, and production schedules.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to create a seamless experience for event attendees.

- Schedule planning meetings and facilitate discussions to meet deadlines.

- Prepare staffing plans and recruit a team for expo installations, ensuring high standards of service.

- Monitor event quality and service, addressing concerns as necessary.

- Support brand and partner activations during marquee events, which may include large festivals and smaller entertainment zones.

- Act as a year-round team player, managing logistics for various event areas during weekly races.

Qualifications:

Experience:
- 3-5 years of event project management experience, particularly in trade shows or conventions.
- Expertise in logistical planning for experiential events and brand activations.
- Strong understanding of event design and branding.
- Familiarity with industry best practices in staging, audio, lighting, and production coordination is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- A calm and composed team player, able to thrive in high-pressure environments.

Skills and Attributes:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work outdoors during evenings and weekends, and to assist in various capacities at events.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on timelines.
- Independent and driven, capable of self-motivation and innovation.

Salary:
$65K
