Your Impact in This Role:

As an Environmental Engineer, you will leverage your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse professionals globally.

In this position, you will contribute by developing and executing environmental initiatives aimed at reducing risks and ensuring compliance, including:


Interpreting and implementing regulatory compliance protocols to ensure timely reporting and documentation for relevant Federal, State, and Local Environmental Permits, regulations, and programs.

Analyzing environmental data, conducting self-assessments, reviewing reports and trends, and communicating findings and recommendations to operational leadership for corrective actions.

Gaining a comprehensive understanding of external environmental activities and technologies and their relevance to the business operations.

Addressing complex regulatory challenges across various environmental media associated with dynamic manufacturing processes.
Building and nurturing a network of intra-divisional support to facilitate the completion of environmental tasks.
Reporting on the status and outcomes of environmental projects and programs to operational leadership.
Qualifications:
To ensure your success in this role from day one, 3M seeks candidates who possess the following qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

A minimum of two (2) years of combined experience in environmental compliance and/or environmental reporting within a private, public, government, or military setting.

Additional qualifications that may enhance your success in this role include:
Experience in environmental compliance within a specialty chemical, petrochemical, or similar facility.

Experience in managing environmental programs [e.g., Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Title V, TSCA, incident investigation, and/or risk management].

A Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience interacting with Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies.
Proficiency with various corporate reporting/compliance and other software tools.
Project Management experience.
