Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cleaner to join our team at ABM. As a key member of our facility maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility and a strong work ethic. You will be working independently to maintain high standards of cleaning and organization, with minimal supervision. Your duties will include cleaning floors, walls, windows, and other surfaces, as well as replenishing supplies and equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and maintaining building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Using procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Sometimes using ladders, dusting and washing furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleaning ceilings and dusting and polishing light fixtures.
  • Washing and replacing blinds.
  • Moving cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
  • Mixing water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors.
  • Cleaning and vacuuming carpeted areas, including the application of spot cleaning treatment.
  • Gathering and emptying trash.
  • Wiping and cleaning tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
  • Cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures.
  • Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
  • Periodically cleaning overhead vents, dusting blinds, and polishing wood furniture.
  • Cleaning interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Spraying insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
  • Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
  • Must keep janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
  • Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
  • May be expected to make basic repairs.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including a ten-year work history if available.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Apart from meeting the above requirements, it would be advantageous if you have:

  • Customer Service experience.
  • 1 yr of similar work experience.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $18.69-$21.70 per hour. This rate may vary based on your skills, qualifications, and location. Location:

This role is based at ABM, with shifts covering Sunday 4 pm - 12:30 am, Monday - Thursday 6 pm - 2:30 am.
