Job Summary

The IT Asset Management Specialist will be supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Regional FPS by monitoring of the Service Request Module (SRM) in the Remedy System, maintaining accounts and files in the Sunflower Asset Management System (SAMS), and providing assistance for special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the Service Request Module (SRM) in the Remedy System on a daily basis
  • Monitor the Service Delivery Mailbox daily
  • Set up workspaces with IT equipment for onboarding employees
  • Create new Sunflower Asset Management System (SAMS) accounts for onboarding employees
  • Ensure offboarding employees return issued assets
  • Issue IT assets to FPS employees as required
  • Package and ship IT assets to the Regions when required or as needed
  • Update SAMS when new IT assets are acquired, moved, excessed, or recovered
  • Track the movement of FPS assets
  • Assist with the moving of assets between FPS storage locations
  • Set up and troubleshoot end-user iPhones and/or MiFi devices
  • Place orders for new devices or replacement devices
  • Maintain inventory of phone cases and accessories for wireless devices
  • Update wireless inventory in SAMS when devices need to be added, recovered, and excessed
  • Expert in Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Tableau Software
  • Work effectively with other branches and divisions within the organization to accomplish tasks
  • Provide assistance, as needed, with special projects
  • Complete other ad hoc assignments, as determined
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Prepare, edit, and assemble reports required for meetings and presentations
  • Oversee the development, revision, and preparation of training materials
  • Oversee the development and editing of regularly scheduled status reports, as requested by the Government Task Manager
Requirements
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in project or program management, or related work with a minimum of five of the eight years in conducting analytical and support activities related to task area
  • A minimum education requirement of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical data
  • Ability to read and interpret management policy, regulations, and directives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 or higher to include Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively with a group or independently
  • Ability to effectively manage several tasks simultaneously
