Job Summary

Biddeford Schools is seeking a highly skilled Education Technician II to join our Special Education Transition Program at Biddeford High School. As an Education Technician II, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, providing a safe and inclusive learning environment, and collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with special needs in academic and functional skills development, including review and reinforcement of previously introduced material and drill and practice activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops and training sessions, to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special needs.
  • Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions, including suspension of students, and assist with preparation of instructional materials and classroom management during emergency drills, assemblies, and play periods.
  • Alert teachers to any problems or special information about individual students.
Requirements
  • Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
  • Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) with fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
  • Appropriate experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a classroom setting.
