Job Summary:

The Biddeford School Department is seeking a qualified Education Technician II to join our team. As an Education Technician II, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a dynamic and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist students with special needs in a classroom setting, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.

Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to develop and implement effective learning plans for students with special needs.

Participate in required workshops and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with special needs.

Perform non-instructional, non-evaluating functions, including suspension of students, as needed.

Assist in preparation of instructional materials and provide classroom management functions during emergency drills, assemblies, and play periods.

Alert teachers to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Requirements:

Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.

Appropriate education and experience for Ed Technician Certification Level.

Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs for the appropriate grade levels is preferred, but not required.
