Position Overview

As the Executive Creative Director, you will be a pivotal leader within the agency, steering the creative vision across various teams to develop and deliver award-winning solutions. Your role will not only involve enhancing the creative output of your teams but also ensuring seamless integration across multiple disciplines.

While you will still engage in creating notable work, the primary satisfaction will stem from nurturing your teams' talents and ideas, refining them to be clearer, stronger, and more enjoyable.

Your relationship with clients will be robust, fostering open communication and collaboration. You will maintain a positive demeanor, finding innovative ways to achieve exceptional creative outcomes, even in challenging circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and elevate creative leadership at all levels within the agency.
  • Provide strategic concept guidance to enhance creative outputs.
  • Foster and maintain a vibrant culture within the creative department and the agency as a whole.
  • Present and articulate concepts and deliverables to both current and potential clients.
  • Drive continuous improvement in creative processes and methodologies.
  • Align creative objectives with agency and client goals.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Creative on staffing strategies and overall team structure.
  • Serve as the creative lead on key accounts, producing culturally relevant and industry-recognized work that addresses client challenges.
  • Oversee and guide creative teams under your direction.
  • Engage regularly with strategy, account, and media teams to foster integrated thinking.
  • Mentor and support writers and art directors across assigned accounts.
  • Curate and collaborate with creative vendors and production partners.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in team leadership and development.
  • 15+ years of experience in the agency or brand landscape.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as advertising, journalism, communication, marketing, or design.
  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for strategy, design, and copy across various project types and mediums.
  • Experience leading and collaborating within an Integrated Agency Team (IAT) and with clients across diverse categories.
  • Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital and social media platforms.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that brings energy, perspective, and a relentless drive to our 40-year-old start-up.
