Senior Product Strategist (Food Manufacturing)
Compensation: 90-110K + Bonus
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker for the role of Senior Product Strategist within the food manufacturing sector. This pivotal position will report directly to the Senior Director of Marketing and will work collaboratively with various business units including Research & Development, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Procurement, as well as external partners and consultants.
The Senior Product Strategist will be responsible for providing insights and leading initiatives in marketing, sales materials, training, trend analysis, and overall product portfolio enhancements. This role demands an individual with a comprehensive understanding of all product categories, a strong ownership mentality, and a genuine enthusiasm for driving business growth. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the overall health, profitability, pricing strategies, and innovation of product lines.
- Employ creative problem-solving techniques and thoughtful approaches to enhance job performance.
- Monitor and anticipate market trends and consumer needs that impact the food service industry.
- Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through consumer and category analysis.
- Organize and analyze sales and market data to evaluate progress against objectives.
- Lead the execution of product packaging design and conduct necessary reviews from a marketing perspective.
- Develop sales and marketing strategies and materials to facilitate growth, including point-of-sale materials, promotional content, and training resources.
- Provide training sessions for Sales teams, Brokers, and Customers.
- Support key industry events and trade shows.
- Work autonomously and lead cross-functional teams to conduct thorough assessments and validate new product opportunities.
- Communicate insights and business results to stakeholders to support informed decision-making through detailed analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct ongoing research and customer discovery sessions to uncover opportunities and insights, presenting findings in a clear and actionable manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Food Science, or a related field.
- Proficient in developing strategic roadmaps, program plans, and business cases to support recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear communication for diverse audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and within matrixed organizations to achieve results.
- Expertise in the product development lifecycle with relevant experience across all phases.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and demonstration skills, both written and verbal.
- Consistently delivers projects on time and within scope.
- Proficient in computer applications including CMS and MS Office Suite.
