About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Scrub Specialist to join our surgical team at Next Move Healthcare. This full-time role offers a stable and predictable schedule with no weekend, vacation, or on-call duties, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring all are sterile and in proper working order.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating their needs to facilitate the smooth and efficient progression of the surgery.
  • Ensure the surgical environment remains sterile by adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Monitor patient safety and well-being throughout the procedure, alerting the surgical team to any issues.
  • Handle specimens, ensuring they are properly labeled and sent to the laboratory as required.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team, maintaining clear and professional communication to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Participate in the preparation and positioning of patients for surgery.
  • Assist in the cleaning and turnover of the operating room between cases.
Requirements
  • Education: Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
  • At least 1 year of Hospital Experience (required).
  • At least 1 year of experience in Orthopedics (required).
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (required).
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Course Completion.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage emergency situations.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Surgical Technologist role.
