Head of Risk Strategy

Position Overview
The organization is in search of a Director of Risk Management dedicated to protecting the company's financial stability and operational framework through specialized knowledge in risk oversight, compliance with insurance regulations, and management of insurance portfolios. In this pivotal position, you will take charge of formulating, executing, and supervising a holistic strategy for identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and tracking risks across various sectors that pertain to the organization’s assets and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, execute, and uphold a thorough risk management framework that aligns with industry standards and regulatory mandates.
- Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and quantify potential risks throughout the organization, encompassing operational, financial, legal, strategic, compliance, and reputational risks.
- Devise and implement strategies to mitigate risks and reduce the potential impact of losses.
- Oversee risk financing initiatives, including the procurement of insurance, management of claims, and implementation of loss prevention programs.
- Stay informed on emerging risks and industry developments, adjusting risk management strategies as necessary.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness within the organization by delivering training and educational programs to employees at all levels.
- Conduct regular risk evaluations and audits of organizational operations to ensure the efficacy of risk management measures.
- Effectively communicate risk-related information to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the budget for the risk management department.
- Lead a team of risk management professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Represent the organization at various insurance captive organization and board meetings.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher education is preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, demonstrating a successful history in developing and executing risk management initiatives.
- Certifications in Risk Management (CRM, FRM, or equivalent) are advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Financial accounting and legal knowledge is not essential but would be beneficial in this role.
