Job Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Radiation Oncology team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiation oncology and excellent clinical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a physician
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations
  • Develop and manage radiation clinical treatment plans
  • Order consultations, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic procedures
  • Dictate specific notes and maintain institutional and divisional compliance with radiation safety precautions

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or Master's degree in Nursing
  • PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants or written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • At least one year of clinical experience as an APP in an inpatient setting or a minimum of two years clinical experience in an outpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Radiation or oncologic background

Working Conditions

This position will be located in League City, but may require travel to the Texas Medical Center during the initial orientation period.

Shift

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Purpose/Function

To promote, provide, and maintain patient care under physician supervision in the Division of Radiation Oncology.

Scope

Affect patient care and outcomes throughout the disease process across the UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center according to the policies and procedures provided by the UT MDACC and the State of Texas as they relate to physician assistants and advance practice nurses.
