As a Mechanical Engineer at Stantec, you will play a key role in leading the design of HVAC systems for various projects, including municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, hydroelectric power stations, and semi-conductor manufacturing facilities.
Your responsibilities will include leading the design of HVAC systems from preliminary design to issue for construction, developing design documents, researching and interpreting applicable codes, and coordinating design with other design disciplines.
You will also provide design support to junior staff and provide engineering services during construction. Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
To be successful in this role, you will need strong communication skills, a strong understanding of all phases of project life cycle, and the ability to work on multiple projects.
You will also need knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, as well as HVAC load calculation software such as HAP or Trace 3D.
Education and experience requirements include a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 4 years of related experience. A Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification is also required.
