Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Division Director to lead our Information Technology (IT) operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance on IT planning, modernization, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and direct the agency's strategic IT operations, including budget and supervision of staff.
  • Serve as the agency's designated Information Resources Manager (IRM) and Information Security Officer (ISO).
  • Develop and implement Information Resource standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and establish IT goals and objectives consistent with the agency's strategic plan.
  • Prepare and submit mandatory IT reports and contribute to the LAR and Strategic Plan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, computer science, or management information systems, and four years of successful full-time professional IT-related experience.
  • OR six years of information resources manager (IRM) experience with staff and budget responsibilities, and 30 semester credit hours at an accredited college in the area listed above.
  • Two years of experience in strategic planning for the use of technology to meet business requirements.
  • Experience managing IR services in a multi-platform environment.
  • Knowledge of Texas state government, state legislative processes, and the state budget process.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in computer information systems, computer science, management information systems, library and information science, or other related field.
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with network operations, preferably with a Texas State Agency.
