Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Executive Chef.

Position Overview
The Kitchen Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the management of daily kitchen operations, including staff oversight. This role supports the Executive Chef in planning, organizing, and scheduling kitchen activities while ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction and striving for profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in food preparation and execution, demonstrating the ability to expedite during peak meal periods.
  • Ensure compliance with service standards and assist in maintaining consistency among all staff members.
  • Support the management of daily kitchen operations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in controlling food costs by training staff on proper food preparation and handling, adhering strictly to health department sanitation and food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including coolers and freezers.
  • Receive, verify, and store food orders as necessary.
  • Monitor product rotation and expiration dates diligently.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chefs to create, develop, and execute menus while ensuring adherence to recipes and product specifications.
  • Complete daily food orders based on scheduled events and anticipated business needs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of staff opening and closing procedures, promptly addressing any deficiencies.
  • Resolve staff issues as they arise while fostering effective relationships with front-of-house management and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations.
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses in various solutions.
  • Familiarity with the tools and equipment necessary for job performance.
  • Physical capability to perform activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, including lifting, climbing, and handling materials.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to multitask and complete assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with others.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods, exceeding 8 hours.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
  • Honesty, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant managerial experience.
  • Possession of a valid food handler permit.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
