Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Guest Services Agent and Night Auditor to join our team at M&R Hotel Management. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, handling night audit duties, and maintaining high standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide top-notch service to guests, responding promptly and effectively to their needs and concerns.
  • Process daily audit of the hotel's financial data, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with overnight shift coverage as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Check guests in and out efficiently, handling cash and credit transactions with precision.
  • Post guest charges, compute bills, and collect payments, adhering to cash handling procedures.
  • Handle guest mail and messages, as well as safe deposits, with confidentiality and care.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
  • Take reservation requests, answer switchboard calls, and block rooms with ease.
  • Monitor room availability, handle special requests, and keep the lobby and back office areas clean and organized.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures, ensuring guest safety and well-being.
  • Offer and handle wake-up calls, clean guest rooms to standards, and open and close shifts with precision.
  • Ensure all credit cards, cash, and change funds are balanced throughout each shift.
  • Inform management of any guest or systems-related complaints or problems.
  • Communicate with incoming staff and management, logging pertinent information in the pass-on log.
  • Keep maintenance informed of all maintenance needs, and pass on guest lost and found inquiries to management or supervisors.
  • Assist in marketing efforts by completing Company Tracking nightly.
  • Verify each Front Desk shift's transactions, process credit card transactions, and post tax charges to guest folios.
  • Finalize transactions completed during the day, create and/or print required reports, and file or transmit reports as directed.
  • Prepare folios for departing guests, post telephone charges, valet charges, and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts.
  • Administer guest payment policies, responsible for shift cash transactions, and maintain hotel key security system.
  • Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures, coordinating with other departments to fulfill guest special requests, and communicating facilities and services to guests at check-in.
  • Answer guest questions regarding local area facilities, and practice safety standards at all times.
  • Be able to move luggage or packages weighing up to 40 lbs, and follow the rules as found in the M&R Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, of which employee is capable of performing.
