Job Overview

APTIM, a leading engineering firm with a global presence, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Coastal Engineer to join our Coastal Engineering practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced engineer to lead challenging restoration projects in the Gulf States.

The selected candidate will report to a Director of the Coastal, Ports, and Marine Division and have the opportunity to manage projects from conceptual design to detailed designs, including plans, specifications, and construction documents. Additionally, the candidate will assist with marketing plans for growing our Coastal, Ports, and Marine Services business line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist business unit and service line Directors with marketing strategies for the Coastal, Ports, and Marine service line
  • Lead project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects
  • Perform project management activities, including scope, budget, and schedule management
  • Design, manage, and contribute to field programs and field data analysis
  • Define numerical modeling needs and provide guidance to the numerical modeling team
  • Serve as a mentor to staff and participate in business development activities
Basic Qualifications
  • Coastal, Ports, and Marine experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
  • 10 years of experience in Louisiana required, with Texas experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
  • Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projects
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written English
