- Financial Transactions: Explain financial obligations to patients or responsible parties, collecting co-pays and balances as required.
- Scheduling and Documentation: Prepare physicians' schedules and charts days in advance, communicate daily scheduling changes to clinical staff, and register and update patients' personal information.
- Appointment Management: Enhance patient satisfaction, optimize provider time, and ensure efficient treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or over the phone.
- Record Management: Ensure the availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information, adhere to policies and procedures, and report any necessary changes.
- Customer Service: Utilize customer service principles and techniques to interact with patients calmly and pleasantly.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a healthcare environment.
