Job Overview

The Investment Company Institute (ICI) is a leading association representing regulated investment funds in the United States and globally. As a Government Affairs Director, State Policy, you will play a critical role in advancing policy goals for ICI and its member companies at the state and local levels of government.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor public policy developments at the state and local levels, advising senior management on financial services issues and federal legislation.
  • Represent ICI and its member companies before state officials, outside organizations, and NGOs.
  • Develop and direct legislative and policy strategies at the state level, evaluating pending legislation's impact on Institute members.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with state officials, including Governors' Offices, State Legislators, Attorneys General, and State Treasurers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; 5-7 years of experience as a State Lobbyist, Consultant, or senior congressional staffer.
  • Strong bipartisan contacts in Republican and Democratic-led states and their legislative bodies.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in advancing important issues through state-level advocacy.
  • Relevant consulting or government affairs experience.
