Job Description

Alston & Bird is seeking a dynamic Health Care Policy Advisor in our Washington, D.C. office. This high-impact position requires contact with clients, Members of Congress, lawyers, and staff at all levels. The individual will report to the Leader of our Health Care Policy team and support legislative advocacy priorities of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attending congressional hearings, federal agency sessions, and drafting summary reports.
  • Scheduling, coordinating, and staffing lobbying activity, such as client congressional appointments and lobby days.
  • Preparing advocacy materials and engaging in direct client contact.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Establishing effective working relationships within the practice group, with clients, and elected officials.
  • Understanding the federal legislative process and current congressional issues.
  • Familiarity with the federal regulatory process, comment periods, and federal agency organizational charts.
  • Strong writing skills with thorough command of English, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and self-editing.
  • Ability to accurately draft and edit written materials and prioritize projects.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to complete tasks efficiently.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.
