Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with client families to understand their needs and preferences, and arrange personalized memorial services that exceed their expectations.
  • Ensure all files and paperwork are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct and attend services with professionalism and dignity, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained.
  • Stay up-to-date with company-provided training and implement best practices to drive business growth.
  • Work on-call/first call, as needed, to provide exceptional service to clients and their families.
  • Utilize systems to review merchandise options, enter contracts, and complete necessary forms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Direct employees to ensure they meet a high standard of professionalism and service level, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with clients, colleagues, and management, and ensure accurate, up-to-date client files.
  • Participate in community events, groups, and organizations to build relationships and promote the company's services.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Funeral Director.
  • Valid Funeral Director License and/or the ability to obtain license in the state of employment.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in growing market share through community involvement.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting, with some duties performed outdoors.
  • Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity, and be willing to work safely and comply with the Company's safety procedures.
  • Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds, and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Performance of this position's duties may also require power reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • This position's duties require routine exposure to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens.
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and maintain a good driving record, and be insurable under company vehicle insurance.
