Job Overview

New Mexico Donor Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Administrator On Call. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of organ donation recovery efforts, including medical evaluation, family approach, organ allocation, and providing clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coach frontline team members by providing consistent, evidence-based critical thinking and decision support while considering appropriate resource management decisions.
  2. Interpret hospital policies for determination of neurological death and guide staff to ensure potential donor patients are declared appropriately.
  3. Present complex clinical information and determine a clear and cohesive plan for assessing donor risk factors and effectively communicate to transplant centers.
  4. Provide resource management and direction to the clinical teams for the day-to-day operations.
  5. Problem solve with onsite organ team members and provide clinical and logistical expertise in all areas of the donation process.
  6. Maintain an awareness of all active referrals and pending activity to ensure optimal use of available resources.
  7. Ensure consistent application and compliance with regulatory standards/requirements as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  8. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, identifying trends and supporting formal staff education needs.
  9. Provide regulatory oversight and verification of critical aspects of the donation process.
  10. Offer on-site mentoring, education, guidance, and support of clinical staff.
  11. Research and coordinate the implementation of new processes, procedures, and best practices aimed at maximizing the outcome of the organ donation process.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience as an Organ Recovery Coordinator with donor management oversight.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or RN/PA/RT/Paramedic certification.
  • Valid Driver's License with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
  • CPTC certification preferred.
