Job Summary

The Group Fitness Instructor is a key member of the Browns Fit team, playing a vital role in the company's overall success. This position involves preparing and leading engaging, safe, and effective group classes based on the class description, offering modifications for participants of varying skill levels as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the company in a positive manner, greeting participants as they enter and leave class.
  • Develop and maintain a fun, supportive, and inclusive class environment.
  • Ensure classes are well-organized, safe, and meet the needs of participants.
  • Meet department goals and contribute to the company's overall success.
  • Arrive 5 minutes early for all classes to prepare the room and greet participants.
  • Dress professionally and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Maintain current and correct certifications for the format(s) taught, as well as CPR certification.
  • Begin and end classes on time, as per the monthly schedule.
  • Prepare and lead classes that cater to diverse participant needs and abilities.
  • Keep studios tidy, secure equipment, and maintain a positive, respectful attitude.
  • Record classes taught or subbed, including attendance numbers.
  • Secure substitute instructors when needed and notify the Group Fitness Director in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, colleagues, and management in a positive and respectful manner.
Requirements
  • A passion for health and wellness, with the ability to inspire and motivate participants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with participants and colleagues.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on providing top-notch service and support.
  • Proficiency in using computer programs, such as Word and Excel.
  • A team player with a positive attitude, creative problem-solving skills, and a commitment to excellence.
