Position Summary:

We are currently seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Girls/Boys Varsity Tennis Assistant Coaches. The successful candidates should possess:

  • Outstanding coaching abilities at the high school level.
  • Significant experience in educational-based athletics.
  • A genuine passion for mentoring and learning from young athletes.

The Girls/Boys Varsity Assistant Tennis Coach will report to the Varsity Head Coach and will play a crucial role in supporting the varsity tennis team. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in conducting practices, motivating student-athletes, and instructing them in game strategies and techniques. Additionally, the coach will promote an appreciation for physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork within the sport of tennis. This role requires travel and availability for weekend and evening commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating and supervising the Girls/Boys Varsity Tennis program.
  • Ensure compliance with University and League policies, rules, and regulations regarding athletic activities and student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to plan and organize practice and game schedules.
  • Maintain a safe environment for student-athletes at all times.
  • Supervise student-athletes during home and away games, ensuring appropriate conduct.
  • Ensure adherence to training rules, academic requirements, and behavioral standards on the court and in team settings.
  • Engage thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, and officials, resolving conflicts professionally.
  • Represent the University positively in all community interactions.
  • Oversee the proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of athletic equipment and uniforms.
  • Make recommendations for the purchase of uniforms, equipment, and supplies, and manage inventory.
  • Maintain necessary certifications and training hours as required.
  • Attend work regularly and be punctual for all practices and games.
  • Obtain prior approval from the Athletic Director for all team-related expenditures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Compensation:

This is a seasonal, part-time position with a compensation rate of $25 per hour.

Qualifications:

  • Experience coaching tennis at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Strong understanding of competitive tennis fundamentals and techniques.

  • CPR/First Aid certification is required.
