Job Overview:

The Athletics Ticket Office Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Athletic Ticket Manager and Assistant Ticket Manager in enhancing the visibility of Brown University Athletics through effective ticket sales initiatives. This position involves assisting with daily operations and game-day ticket management for various varsity athletic events.

As a member of the Ivy League, Brown University boasts an intercollegiate athletics program featuring 34 varsity teams and approximately 1,000 student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division I level.

All employees are expected to uphold exemplary ethical standards and adhere to NCAA regulations. The responsibilities of this role must be executed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League guidelines. Any knowledge of rule violations must be reported to the compliance office. Employees in coaching roles are required to complete annual education on NCAA recruiting legislation and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certifications, which are provided at no cost through the Division.


Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in ticket sales or operations, marketing, or promotions is preferred.
  • Strong financial accounting skills are essential.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication, and computer skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn new systems as necessary.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is advantageous.
  • Experience with online ticketing systems is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills are a must.
  • A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment is essential.
  • The selected candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check, education verification, credit check, and motor vehicle record check satisfactory to Brown University prior to starting employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of game day operations for various sports including Men's and Women's Soccer, Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's Hockey, and Lacrosse.
  • Formulate ticket sales strategies aimed at maximizing attendance and revenue for ticketed sports events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local youth organizations and schools.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during games and other athletic events.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and assist with special projects as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
