Job Summary

Okland Construction is seeking an experienced Healthcare Construction Manager to oversee and manage commercial construction projects within the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in challenging vertical construction projects, particularly those with unique architectural design elements related to healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction process, ensuring adherence to project procedures, safety protocols, and work rules.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and quality while maintaining efficient use of materials and equipment.
  • Develop phasing and sequencing plans to meet project milestones.
  • Communicate regularly with project owners, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project goals and objectives are met.
  • Supervise craft employees and on-site company personnel.
  • Mentor and encourage subordinate growth and development.
  • Uphold our corporate values in hiring and dismissal procedures.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules and logistics plans.
  • Ensure compliance with trade partner contract agreements.
  • Hold parties accountable while maintaining fairness.
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure that all work is completed to the highest quality standards.

Healthcare-Specific Expertise:

  • Clean Room Management: Understand the stringent requirements for clean rooms within healthcare facilities. Ensure compliance with cleanliness standards, air quality, and contamination control.
  • Infection Control Measures: Implement protocols to prevent the spread of infections during construction activities.
  • Medical Equipment Coordination: Collaborate with medical equipment vendors and facility staff to ensure seamless integration of specialized equipment.
  • Life Safety Systems: Familiarity with healthcare-specific life safety systems, including fire suppression, emergency exits, and evacuation plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management and/or minimum 10+ years of related experience working on commercial construction projects.
  • 5+ years of related experience working on healthcare projects.
  • Proven success in managing projects with a total scope of $40+ million.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific construction requirements and regulations.
  • Must be able to clear government and hospital access requirements, which may include background checks, immunizations, etc.
  • Experience with project management software and tools, such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Ability to maintain working, positive relationships with subcontractors, owners, and co-workers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blueprints, contract documents, and specifications, and CPM schedules.
