Position: Superintendent
Experience Required: 4-5 Years as Assistant Superintendent on Commercial Construction Sites (Including Ground-Up K-12 Projects)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Superintendent with a proven track record of 4-5 years in a role as Assistant Superintendent on commercial construction projects, particularly those involving ground-up K-12 facilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of construction documents and specifications, exhibit strong leadership capabilities in overseeing project execution, and ensure that projects are completed with the highest standards of quality and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all construction activities on designated projects.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to drive project success.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of project plans and specifications.
- Engage in the pre-construction phase, offering insights on feasibility and constructability.
- Conduct essential preconstruction meetings with subcontractors prior to project initiation.
- Ensure rigorous quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Adhere to and implement company policies and procedures.
- Update and manage the Project Schedule, providing updates during subcontractor meetings.
- Develop and oversee short-term construction timelines.
- Maintain accurate Daily Reports in the project management software.
- Document project and subcontractor performance meticulously.
- Monitor the timely delivery of materials required for the project.
- Facilitate weekly meetings with subcontractors to discuss project status and challenges.
- Ensure a clean and organized construction site and trailer.
- Enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Complete all punch list items, including those from subcontractors, architects, owners, and MEPs.
- Provide training and guidance to Assistant Superintendents or other assigned personnel.
- Act as the primary liaison with the district and architect.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to meet all project deadlines effectively.
- Dedication to delivering projects with excellence from start to finish.
- Maintain real-time awareness of project budgets.
- Possess a working knowledge of various trades.
- Understand the construction sequence and proactively position the project ahead of schedule.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and other scheduling software.
- Effectively utilize submittal tracking software and logs.
- Familiarity with Plan Grid Software.
- Strong communication skills to manage subcontractors regarding material delivery and workforce.
- Exhibit forward-thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Maintain open and honest communication with the General Superintendent and Project Management Team.
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
