The Night Auditor is tasked with overseeing the preparation and execution of all Night Audit responsibilities. This role manages the front desk operations during the overnight hours, typically from 11 PM to 7 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Registering guests and managing reservations

- Balancing transactions and conducting security inspections
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in the hospitality industry or a related field is required.
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory; college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Knowledge of accounting principles is essential.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills to address guest concerns and respond effectively to emergencies. Proficiency in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing is required. Effective communication skills are necessary to convey information clearly and evaluate alternative courses of action swiftly and accurately. The ability to manage stress and maintain composure in high-pressure situations is crucial.
Responsibilities Include:
- Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in line with company standards, which may vary based on hotel needs.
- Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag adherence.
- Comply with company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Initiate and complete the End of Day process, running all necessary reports for Food and Beverage audits.
- Complete the Night Audit checklist for daily computer procedures.
- Balance daily financial activities, including movie revenue, telephone postings, and other paperwork.
- Maintain cashiering responsibilities as per Front Office procedures.
- Ensure the operation of the Front Office computer system aligns with company standards.
- Fulfill all Front Office duties during the overnight shift.
- Conduct periodic checks of the premises to ensure security and safety.
Handle and follow through on all guest requests during the overnight hours. Adhere to safety and emergency protocols as per company standards. Maintain accurate record-keeping, including log books. Familiarize yourself with all company policies and house rules.
Complete daily billing tasks and ensure proper documentation is submitted to the Property Accountant. Maintain communication with other associates throughout the shift. Have a solid understanding of security procedures. Ensure all associates are attentive, friendly, and courteous to guests and colleagues.
Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed. Manage the transfer of master or house accounts as necessary. Distribute work as directed by standard operating procedures. Train new Night Auditors as required by management. Run morning reports according to company procedures.
Ensure nightly inspections include the removal of room service trays and the tidiness of common areas. Manage lost and found items according to established standards. Complete any reports requested by management promptly. Undertake miscellaneous duties as needed, including resetting Food and Beverage systems and preparing daily revenue summaries.
As applicable, assist guests with food orders and serve items in a professional and timely manner, employing suggestive selling techniques while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
