Job Description

As a Senior Payroll Specialist on our Accounting Team, you'll be responsible for maintaining, reviewing, and validating data for US payroll using Workday Payroll. You'll also review timesheets, attendance records, and leave of absence pay, as well as audit payroll tax records and process payments for final paychecks, adjustments, and special pay.

You'll collaborate closely with the Benefits, HRIS, People Ops, and Accounting teams to ensure seamless coordination across various functions. This role will report directly to the Senior Payroll Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, review, and validate data for US payroll using Workday Payroll
  • Review timesheets, attendance records, and leave of absence pay
  • Audit payroll tax records
  • Process payments for final paychecks, adjustments, and special pay
  • Create journal entries related to payroll transactions
  • Collaborate with the accounting and finance teams to provide commentary on flux and trends
  • Participate in audits for 401k, Workers Compensation, and general audit
  • File quarterly taxes and issue W-2s
  • Create and maintain process documentation
  • Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports to various internal departments such as Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Equity

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance
  • Experience creating journal entries
  • Experience recording equity transactions including RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, and ESPP
  • Demonstrated understanding of US payroll compliance and taxes
  • Experience building relationships and communicating with stakeholders across all levels and functions
  • Commitment to customer service

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $112,000 - $196,000 per year, depending on location and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement contributions, parental leave, mental health and wellness support, generous PTO, and cell phone reimbursement, we also offer sales incentive pay for most sales roles.
