Senior Payroll Accounting Professional

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Accounting Specialist to join our team at LHH Recruitment Solutions in Seattle, WA. As a key member of our payroll accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll-related accounting processes, ensuring accurate payroll data and compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing and Accounting
- Collaborate with payroll specialists to ensure timely and accurate payroll runs.
- Calculate and record payroll entries in the general ledger, maintaining accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage payroll-related accounts, including wages, bonuses, deductions, and benefits, ensuring proper account coding and allocations.
- Reconciliation and Analysis
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting and audits.
- Analyze payroll costs and trends, providing reports and recommendations to management for budgeting and cost-saving initiatives.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting
- E nsure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing and submitting payroll tax filings and related reports.
- Maintain accurate records of employee tax withholdings, FICA, and other payroll-related tax liabilities.
- Assist with year-end reporting requirements, including W-2s, 1099s, and other regulatory documents.
- Audit Support
- Prepare payroll records and documentation to support internal and external audits.
- Work closely with auditors, providing information and assistance as required for payroll and financial audits.
- Review and enhance payroll processes to ensure audit compliance and reduce risk.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting or general accounting, with a strong understanding of payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of payroll accounting principles, tax regulations, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Proficiency in payroll and accounting software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or SAP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary range for this position is $30-$35 per hour, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, an EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401K plan.
