Fleet Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Technician to join our team at the County of San Diego. As a Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, inspections, and repairs on vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair problems with vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs to ensure vehicles and equipment are in good working condition
  • Work with minimal supervision to complete tasks and meet deadlines
Requirements:
  • Two years of experience servicing motorized vehicular equipment, including lubrication, in a commercial, industrial, or governmental service center
  • Valid California A or B driver's license required within six months of appointment
  • ASE certification in four of the eight areas for either an Automobile Technician or Medium/Heavy Truck Technician highly desirable
