Retail Sales Associate Position Overview

As a key member of the Uniqlo Co., Ltd. team, the Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is critical in exceeding customer expectations by listening to their needs, providing in-depth product information, and closing sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet and Exceed Sales Goals: Achieve sales targets by effectively communicating product benefits, handling customer inquiries, and making recommendations.
  • Maintain Brand and Operational Standards: Ensure visual merchandising, store cleanliness, and overall store appearance meet Uniqlo's high standards.
  • Pro-actively Manage Customer Needs: Utilize the Uniqlo service standard, follow the Uniqlo Fundamental Principles, and use standard phrases to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Be Knowledgeable of Fitting Room Standards: Assist customers with fitting room needs and provide product information to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Act as Cashier: Process transactions accurately and efficiently, following cashier protocol.
  • Process Shipment and Ensure Inventory Accuracy: Receive and stock merchandise, ensuring all products are represented on the floor in full size runs.
  • Assist Management: Identify and resolve issues in the store, providing solutions to improve customer satisfaction and sales growth.
  • Provide Product and Brand Knowledge: Educate customers on product features, benefits, and brand values.
  • Follow Company Policy and Procedures: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, reporting any infractions to management.
  • Assist with Special Projects: Participate in store initiatives and events, as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Mathematical Skills: Calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts and percentages.
  • Physical Demands: Stand for long periods, read computer terminals, push, pull, move, lift, or carry objects of at least 25 pounds.
  • Physical Abilities: Maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing.
Schedule Requirements:
  • Flexible Schedule: Work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including nights, evenings, and weekends.
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D., or 6 months retail or related experience: Meet the minimum educational requirement or possess relevant work experience.
