Job Summary

The Cash Application Specialist position is a key role within the collection department at Cornerstone Building Brands. This position is responsible for ensuring the company receives payments for goods and services, and records these transactions accurately, while securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts, and resolving any discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cash Application: Process daily cash receipts from lockbox, ACH, and credit cards to customer accounts.
  • Intercompany Cash Entries: Process intercompany cash transactions.
  • Cash Account Reconciliation: Reconcile cash accounts and investigate unapplied payments.
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain accounts receivable files and records.
  • Monthly Closing Activities: Assist in monthly closing activities.
  • Inquiries and Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in general financial management and analysis.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of accounting experience in a professional setting required.
  • Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical ability; ability to be well-organized and multitask; meet deadlines; excellent Microsoft Excel skills; knowledge of pivot tables, data queries, etc.
  • Communication: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism; ability to effectively communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and employment levels within and outside the organization.
  • Language: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English language.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and able to get daily tasks completed with minimal supervision.
  • Industry Experience: Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
