About the Role

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Patient Experience Representative to join our team. As a key member of our inpatient services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients and families receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Encounter Management
    • Provide exceptional customer service to support unit operations
    • Collaborate with referring providers and practices to ensure seamless patient care
    • Obtain required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules
    • Schedule patients and support the patient encounter
  • Check In / Check Out
    • Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
    • Monitor daily schedules and coordinate flow with clinicians and supervisors
    • Reconcile payments and prepare deposits, providing a record of transactions in Hospital systems
    • Facilitate and direct communication with Financial Counseling
  • Administrative
    • Record and forward messages, triage calls for urgent information or services, and initiate calls for emergency services
    • Provide routine clerical support as needed
Requirements
  • A high school level of education, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies
