Job Overview

The Member Services Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our members at Sunbelt Federal Credit Union. This position offers a competitive starting salary of $16.00-$19.00 per hour, with the potential to earn additional monthly incentives based on individual and branch performance.

REPORTS TO: Branch Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role encompasses a diverse range of member service responsibilities, executed with precision and efficiency. Key functions include handling transactions related to teller services and lending, as well as maintaining accounts and facilitating the opening of new accounts. Please note that this is not a remote position.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Travel may be necessary during the training phase, which will be conducted in a designated location and last approximately one month. Specific details will be provided during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:
To succeed in this role, individuals must be able to perform the following essential duties:

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with members, ensuring a superior member experience.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Credit Union's products, services, policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct interviews with members and prospective members to identify their needs and recommend suitable products and services.
  • Open new accounts, verifying identification to mitigate fraudulent activities, and provide necessary regulatory disclosures.
  • Identify member needs and offer appropriate loan and deposit products and services.
  • Manage and balance a cash drawer in accordance with Credit Union policies.
  • Prepare and assess information reflecting members' creditworthiness and process consumer loans for approval.
  • Assist members with loan servicing, including processing payoffs and payment modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and legal regulations in lending operations.
  • Support the Credit Union's mission and strategic goals by delivering services promptly and courteously.
  • Resolve member inquiries independently, escalating complex issues as necessary.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, candidates should possess the following:

  • Fluency in English
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficiency in banking software applications or the ability to learn quickly
  • Understanding of federal regulations governing financial institutions
  • Basic math skills and a keen eye for detail

Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a standard workweek. Hours may vary.
