Job Overview

The Member Services Specialist position offers a competitive starting salary ranging from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour. Additionally, there is an opportunity to earn over $500 monthly in incentives based on individual and branch performance.

REPORTS TO: Branch Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role encompasses a wide array of member service responsibilities, executed with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, handling cash transactions, managing accounts, and facilitating the opening of new accounts while promoting additional products related to loans. Please note that this is not a remote role.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Travel may be necessary during the training phase, which will take place in a designated location and last approximately one month. Specific details will be provided during the interview process.

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with members, ensuring a superior member experience.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Credit Union offerings, policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with members and potential members to identify their needs and recommend suitable products and services.
  • Open new accounts, ensuring proper identification to mitigate fraud risks and provide necessary disclosures.
  • Identify member needs and promote appropriate loan and deposit products.
  • Manage and balance a cash drawer in accordance with Credit Union policies.
  • Prepare and assess member creditworthiness for consumer loans, ensuring compliance with lending policies.
  • Assist members with loan servicing, including processing payoffs and payment modifications.
  • Ensure all lending operations comply with established policies and legal requirements.
  • Support the Credit Union's mission and strategic objectives by delivering services efficiently and courteously.
  • Resolve member inquiries independently, escalating complex issues as necessary.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Fluency in English
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn banking software applications
  • Familiarity with Credit Union products and services
  • Understanding of federal regulations governing financial institutions
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in math

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a standard workweek. Specific hours may vary.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include regular sitting, standing, and walking, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment:
Employees will work in a climate-controlled office setting, in close proximity to colleagues, and are required to wear company-branded apparel.
