The Denver Housing Authority is seeking a seasoned professional to serve as the Deputy Director of Housing Choice Voucher, assisting the Director in managing and overseeing the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Key Responsibilities:- Program Management: Supervise and ensure compliance with Housing Quality Standards, National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate, Section 8 Management Assessment Program standards, and related Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policies.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure the provision of safe, decent, and sanitary housing, and that program administrators, managers, and supervisors properly interpret and manage program areas to maintain fiscal responsibility of HUD funds.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, law, business management, or public administration.
- Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience in a related field.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, resource management, and staff supervision; understanding of HUD regulations, inspection standards/protocols, and affordable housing programs; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and budget-related software systems.
- Sick Leave: Accrued at 6 hours per month.
- Vacation Leave: Accrued at 8 hours per month.
- Paid Holidays: 12 paid holidays per year with an optional paid day off.
- Health Insurance: Provided by the Denver Housing Authority.
- Retirement Plan: Pension plan (equal to 10% of the annual salary) and 457 pension plan.
