Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Trane Technologies. As a key member of our Diversified Laboratory Repair (DLR) team, you will be responsible for performing service, repair, installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on all types of laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform service, installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment.
  • Test components, check for leaks, operate and read gauges, read wiring diagrams, diagnose electrical and mechanical defects, reclaim refrigerant, and perform mechanical repairs.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibrate process controllers.
  • Diagnose and correct cooling issues and keep accurate and neat maintenance records.
  • Work from engineering drawings for brazing and assembly of prototype refrigerated products and explain/describe services provided.
  • Mark hours worked on each job accurately and maintain an organized replacement parts inventory in service vehicle.
  • Be prepared to work independently and as part of a team, with occasional overtime required.
Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial refrigeration equipment.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with hand-held devices.
  • A valid driver's license with no major or frequent traffic violations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of refrigeration and electronics, with a Journeyman license preferred.
  • Universal EPA Certification and Ultra-low refrigeration experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and grammar, and the ability to interface professionally with customers.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seatbelt.
  • Ability to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
  • Ability to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction, squat, and reach your hands over your head.
  • Ability to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
