About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and Repair: Perform service, repair, and installation of laboratory equipment, including refrigeration systems, at customer sites or in our repair shop.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical defects in laboratory equipment, including refrigeration systems.
  • Calibration and Testing: Calibrate process controllers and perform testing on laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and neat maintenance records, as well as other paperwork related to equipment service and repair.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining commercial refrigeration equipment.
  • Skills: Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with hand-held devices (i.e., smartphone, iPad). Valid driver's license with no major or frequent traffic violations. Hands-on knowledge of refrigeration and electronics. Journeyman license preferred. Universal EPA Certification. Ultra-low refrigeration experience a plus.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seatbelt. Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots to safely perform job duties. Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction. Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands. Must be able to reach your hands over your head. Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
