Position Title:
Warehouse Supervisor
Function:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and internal handling of materials and finished products. This role ensures that operations run smoothly and consistently, facilitating the efficient and effective distribution of products and supplies to meet both internal and external customer needs. The supervisor is accountable for maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse and reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, material handling, and inventory management.
- Works closely with the Production Planner to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Manages incoming materials and outgoing orders to ensure production and shipping departments have the necessary inventory.
- Plans and organizes workflows, ensuring staff can safely operate material handling equipment.
- Supervises the unloading of materials in the receiving area, ensuring they are prepared for counting and inspection, while maintaining accurate records of all received materials.
- Conducts cycle counts and other inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
- Identifies root causes and implements corrective actions for discrepancies.
- Monitors documentation flow from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.
- Utilizes Sage X3 for inventory control and material handling processes.
- Identifies process improvements and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrates a leadership approach that emphasizes leading by example and servant leadership.
- Manages the ordering of production supplies to ensure timely delivery to departments.
- Takes ownership of all internal and external inventory movements.
- Ensures proper rotation of stock within the warehouse.
- Inspects material handling equipment for maintenance needs and coordinates repairs.
- Utilizes the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for reporting and tracking purposes.
- Creates and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) to promote continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with maintenance teams to address equipment repair needs promptly.
- Performs additional related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, and best practices in material handling.
- Ability to develop staff and equipment structures to support current and future operations.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Flexibility in scheduling and task management.
- Strong collaborative skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, EDI, and ERP systems.
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including stand-up forklifts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Cosmetic GMP/ISO 9001:2015 standards is advantageous.
- Hazwoper training and experience in hazardous materials handling is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages and develops all employees within the Receiving, Material Handling, and Inventory Control departments.
- Responsible for performance management and training of department staff.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, operations management, or business management preferred, or equivalent experience in shipping operations.
- Experience in supervising, coaching, and developing team members.
- Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Certification in Stand Up/Cherry Picker Forklift operation is required.
Certificates:
- Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.
Language Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform basic mathematical operations with large numbers.
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong leadership and performance management skills.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Results-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Flexible and collaborative team player.

Physical Demands:
This position requires regular communication and interaction. Employees must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, use hands for handling materials, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision.
Work Environment:
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and varying noise levels. The work environment may also include fluctuating temperatures.
