Role Summary

The Retail Team is responsible for managing the museum's acclaimed retail store, which features top-tier products across various categories and serves as a reliable source for sexual wellness and enjoyment. As the Museum of Sex continues to evolve, the retail segment plays a pivotal role in this growth. The Stock Associate is essential in supporting the Retail business objectives by enhancing customer satisfaction through effective stock management and product presentation. Collaboration is vital within our operations, and the Stock Associate will work closely with Stock leaders and the Retail team to ensure an exceptional experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure daily operations run smoothly by managing product reception and display according to established standards.
  • Inspect and count incoming stock for any damages or discrepancies.
  • Label merchandise with appropriate identification and pricing tags.
  • Utilize the POS system to monitor inventory levels, manage deliveries, and stay informed on pricing and cost adjustments.
  • Oversee stock procedures, including receiving orders, tagging products, and maintaining communication with vendors.
  • Conduct regular assessments of stock needs for the retail sales floor.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of product offerings and their placement within the store.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of merchandise and stock areas, adhering to first-in, first-out inventory practices.
  • Keep assigned areas, including product displays and stock rooms, well-maintained and functional.
  • Communicate effectively with guests about the museum's history, programs, and events.
  • Facilitate communication with support departments as necessary.
  • Keep the team informed about stock levels, order statuses, and any product issues.
  • Assist with merchandising and floor layout changes.
  • Be prepared to lift packages weighing up to 30 lbs and move around the store as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and POS technology.
  • Background in stock management, organization, or merchandising.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse individuals.
  • Dependable and friendly, with a passion for teamwork.

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
