Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Social Worker to join our team at Children's National Hospital. As a Social Worker II, you will play a critical role in providing psychosocial support to patients and families across the continuum of care in the Heart Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments for identified patients and families, and develop plans for intervention based on assessment findings.
  • Facilitate interventions, including crisis intervention, supportive counseling, grief and bereavement support, and connect families with community resources.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex patient care issues and ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Advocate for patient and family needs within the hospital system and the community.
  • Participate in education and training programs to enhance clinical skills and stay current with best practices in social work.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-MSW experience in a hospital-based setting, preferably in pediatric care.
  • Ind. Clinical Social Worker licensure in the District of Columbia at minimum at the LICSW-level, with the ability to obtain licensure in MD and/or VA as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
