Position Overview
As a key contributor, the Equipment Engineer II provides essential technical assistance to Tolmar's diverse packaging and manufacturing facilities. This role focuses on equipment-specific installations, enhancements, and modifications for both new and existing machinery that significantly influence the Manufacturing and Equipment Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain various equipment aspects, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and third-party vendors to assess options for equipment systems utilized in manufacturing.
- Develop and evaluate technical User Requirements Specifications (URS), Installation/Operational/Performance Qualifications (IQOQPQ), and Change Controls (CC) necessary for manufacturing equipment systems.
- Create and review technical work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and preventative maintenance documentation for manufacturing equipment.
- Coordinate with colleagues to update manufacturing batch records to mitigate operational impacts from equipment changes.
- Provide training to personnel across various departments on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and safety concerning both new and existing equipment.
- Support and lead investigations related to equipment issues, including customer complaints, and implement Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
- Assist in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new equipment as required.
- Engage in research and selection of new or used equipment, parts for modifications, and system integration options.
- Participate in special projects and other assigned duties.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment focusing on equipment.
- Familiarity with the requirements of regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or medical device manufacturing is preferred.

Core Competencies
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation components involved in equipment design and operation.
- Proficient in PLC logic, equipment integration, and automation concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing equipment and drafting/prototyping software is advantageous.

Working Conditions
- The role involves working in an office, laboratory, and manufacturing environment.
- May require occasional weekend or evening work and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Travel requirements may include up to 10% of time, both domestically and internationally.
