Position Title: Senior System Administrator (Windows)

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Relocation Assistance: Not available at this time

Remote/Telework: Not applicable for this position

Clearance Type: DoD Secret

Shift: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% of the time

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior System Administrator (Windows) will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role includes monitoring system performance, implementing upgrades, managing vulnerabilities, and providing technical assistance to users. The successful candidate will:


• Construct, configure, deploy, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot both virtual and physical servers/systems.


• Assess and evaluate documentation and media provided by developers to meet installation deadlines with available resources.


• Propose strategies to plan, develop, and execute work plans that fulfill critical-path requirements.


• Oversee and ensure that team members are executing system changes in line with developer documentation and configuration management practices.


• Offer support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.


• Install, configure, and manage an on-premises Active Directory environment, including the configuration and implementation of Group Policy Objects (GPOs).


• Assist integration leads and managers in defining problems, analyzing requirements, and implementing solutions as necessary.


• Advise team members and leadership, making suitable technical recommendations regarding system development issues, improvements, optimization tools, methods, and support efforts.


• Monitor and report installation progress to relevant managers on a daily basis.


• Conduct necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify issues, trends, and assist in troubleshooting actions.


• Collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple internal and external team members and government representatives in the execution of daily responsibilities.


• Coordinate and schedule developer support during installations as required.

Qualifications:

This position is available at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

Must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience: High School Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; Master's degree with 4 years of general experience.


• A minimum of 7 years of directly relevant experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and applications such as Windows Server and Windows 10.


• At least 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role.


• Strong knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers, Sites and Services, DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking, and LDAP.


• Experience in building, configuring, and deploying servers/systems in a virtualized environment.


• Ability to interface with software engineers, systems engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to resolve complex integration and technical challenges.


• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels, both written and oral.


• A current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE is required.


• Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis.


• Experience with Multi-Factor Authentication methodologies.


• Familiarity with patch and software management using HCL BigFix.


• Experience with HP hardware.


• Knowledge of NetApp NAS storage.


• Proficiency in Windows Active Directory and familiarity with Linux.


• Experience in building, configuring, and deploying servers/systems using vSphere 6.5 or higher.


• Working knowledge of basic PowerShell scripting.


• Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).


• Possession of MCSA / MCSE or equivalent certification.

This position is expected to offer a salary range of $104,000 - $125,000 annually, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
