Position Title: System Administrator

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO

Relocation Assistance: Not available

Remote/Telework: Not applicable for this role

Clearance Type: DoD Secret

Shift: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% of the time

Key Responsibilities:

The STaRS System Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with internal program teams to provide and receive additional system administration support as necessary.
  • Collaborating with engineers to deliver high-quality and innovative system administration services to our government clients.
  • Working alongside system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems or modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions.
  • Ensuring daily system monitoring, backups, and application upgrades to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Overseeing system software installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity measures in accordance with established policies and service agreements.
  • Assisting with various Systems Administrator tasks as required by mission needs.
  • Creating and maintaining system administration plans, procedures, processes, and configuration documentation.
  • Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication with team members and stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must meet one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • High School Diploma (or GED) with 2 years of general experience.
  • A minimum of 2.5 years of specialized experience in a computer operations environment performing systems administration in either Windows or Linux.
  • Experience with virtual environments, specifically VMware.
  • Possession of a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g., CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP).
  • A current DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI.
  • Experience managing a Red Hat Linux environment with Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) Servers.
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
  • Experience in conducting log analysis for root cause assessments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of virtualization infrastructure.
  • Experience with DoD networking, particularly with classified data networks and understanding of red/black concepts and IA compliance.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $69,500 - $94,500 annually, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
