Position Title: Lead Systems Administrator for Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Clearance Type: DoD Secret

Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Systems Administrator for Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing strategic leadership and oversight for a team of dedicated Linux and Windows system administrators.
  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system administration, covering operating systems, hardware/software integration, virtualization, and containerization.
  • Delegating tasks effectively within a fast-paced environment while ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Collaborating with internal program elements to facilitate additional system administration support as necessary.
  • Working alongside engineers to deliver innovative system administration services to government clients.
  • Identifying and defining requirements for new systems or modifications, developing designs, and implementing solutions.
  • Ensuring continuous system operations through daily monitoring, backups, and application upgrades.
  • Overseeing system software installations, maintenance, and cybersecurity measures in compliance with established protocols.
  • Coordinating with vendors for infrastructure reviews and support activities.
  • Assisting with various Systems Administrator tasks as required by mission demands.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive system administration documentation and training plans.
  • Fostering effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Being available to respond to mission surge support events within a specified timeframe.
Qualifications:This position may be filled at multiple levels based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience:
  • HS Diploma (or GED) with 14 years of experience
  • Associate's degree with 12 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience
  • Master's degree with 8 years of experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in systems administration for both Windows and Linux environments.
  • At least 3 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience with virtual environments, particularly VMware.
  • A current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher.
  • A current DoD Secret security clearance with the potential to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux environments and Identity Management (IdM) Servers.
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
  • Experience in conducting log analysis for root cause assessments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of virtualization infrastructure and Kubernetes technologies.
  • Understanding of DoD networking and compliance with classified data networks.
