Position Overview:
As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides exceptional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients during their immediate recovery phase following surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care that aligns with hospital policies and the standards set by the Association of Peri-anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN).
  • Utilize the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff and ancillary personnel to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Administer nursing techniques that prioritize patient comfort and well-being.
  • Prepare necessary equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Act as a resource for departmental needs, including mentoring new staff and taking on charge nurse responsibilities as required.
  • Maintain flexibility in work hours and be available for on-call duties during nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing standards, including TJC, OSHA, ACHA, and CMS.

Qualifications:
  • Current RN License in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
  • Minimum of one year of post-operative nursing experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.
