Asystem is seeking a Climate Strategy Consultant or Senior Sustainability Consultant to enhance our Transition Strategy and Execution services.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage in strategic consulting, financial modeling, and project execution.

  • Construct comprehensive financial analyses and models that incorporate climate, sustainability, economic, policy, technology, and other pertinent data.
  • Analyze market, industry, and customer-specific data to formulate relevant assumptions and timelines for project deliverables.
  • Develop business cases for sustainability-oriented initiatives, encompassing climate, water, and waste management projects.
  • Act as the primary executor of project engagements, implementing the project plan established by leadership to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Produce deliverables that not only meet but exceed project expectations.
  • Transform research and analysis into cohesive narratives for client presentations.
  • Exhibit executive presence in client interactions and present findings as necessary.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Possess the ability to identify, assess, and quantify the financial implications of sustainability-related business cases.
  • Provide insights and synthesis on emerging sustainability technologies and solutions, along with their business model implications.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for learning and professional growth.
  • Prioritize candidates with experience in deploying clean energy solutions and developing energy efficiency and decarbonization strategies.

Support Internal Initiatives:

  • Develop financial models to aid in business planning for new service offerings.
  • Contribute to market research and business development efforts that bolster client sales presentations and thought leadership.
  • Assist in creating materials for Asystem's Learning Agenda and team development.

Essential Skills:

  • 3 - 7 years of relevant professional experience, with a preference for candidates possessing 2+ years in climate strategy and prior consulting experience.
  • Proficiency in creating robust financial models and conducting sensitivity analyses to support business case development.
  • Experience with scenario analysis techniques, including Monte Carlo and Crystal Ball, to assess probabilities and potential outcomes.
  • Ability to develop both quantitative and qualitative analyses and presentations to support program or project-level business cases.
  • Experience in retail, consumer-facing businesses, electric utilities, or the energy sector is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with global standards and frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, SBTi, RE100, ISSB, TCFD, TNFD, and PRI.
  • Knowledge of energy, decarbonization, and climate transition solutions, along with an understanding of project finance.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in climate-related data and corporate strategy processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills adaptable to various audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and foster an inclusive environment with client partners.
  • Comfort in navigating ambiguous challenges and identifying a range of potential solutions.
  • Flexible mindset with the capability to build trust and work independently.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Interest in cultivating and managing sustainable business practices.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong academic background, preferably in climate, sustainability, business, public affairs, or related fields.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000, with title and salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonuses and equity options.
